11.12.80 Providence, RI, intro to ´´Darkness on the Edge of Town´´
´´It´s a combat zone down there (?)....if you guys....or anybody stuck in the aisle there, it´s gonna be a real long show tonight and if you could find your seats, I´d appreciate it....so help these guys find your seats for you, ok, because you´ll be standing up in front of people (?) so I´d appreciate it if you´d keep the aisles clear, thank you very much....´´

11.12.80 Providence, RI, intro to ´´Independence Day´´
´´I grew up in this town where it seemed that....that everybody....everybody that I knew.... had somehow let their lives, seemed like they´d let their lives pass ´em by somewhere along the way....and I remember going, I´d go to school every day....and for some reason I just couldn´t....either the way they were teaching things or trying to bang it into your head instead of somehow, somehow get it, get it through your heart that....it seemed like the stuff they were teaching, that they weren´t there to help you find your place somehow but it was just stuff that was there to keep you in your place....and later on I used to think that there was all those great books and stuff by those guys that wrote, they wrote with all that passion and all that fire, that somehow, that somehow years later you´d stand in a room with somebody and they could make that stuff seem so boring....and....it wasn´t until I first started listening to the radio....that something started to spark, spark my mind a little bit and....and I heard stuff on the radio that, that.....that somehow said to me that, that things didn´t have to be the way that they were, that if you tried or if you, if you had some luck, you had some guts, you could go out and make things better for yourself....but it gets harder to do that every day, it´s harder to do that every single day....but I remember I´d sit, I´d sit at home and I´d watch my Pop, my Dad and I´d see that somehow he missed it, somehow he never heard that stuff that was on the radio and it seemed like it was killing him every day of his life and I decided that somehow that wasn´t gonna happen to me, that I wasn´t gonna miss it so don´t you miss it either, you know....´´

11.12.80 Providence, RI, intro to ´´Two Hearts´´

11.12.80 Providence, RI, intro to ´´Badlands´´
´´The past week we´ve been reminded again how we gotta live in a world with things that are just sometimes unliveble....and....how easy it is to use that....to lose that human part of you....´´

11.12.80 Providence, RI, after ´´Thunder Road´´
´´Thanks....thanks....we´re gonna....we´re gonna (chuckles)(crowd is cheering real loud) we´re gonna take a short break and then we´re gonna come back and we´re gonna do another whole set for you so get ready to rock all night long....”

´´That´s for all the old-timers out there....the hardest thing to do, it seems, when you meet somebody, like....is to make, is to make that thing last.....and it´s harder when you don´t even understand howcome, howcome it doesn´t sometimes....´´

11.12.80 Providence, RI, intro to ´´Rendezvous´´
´´This was a song that we never recorded but I guess we will someday (chuckles) you never know, though (chuckles) alright, go ahead, Max (Max starts drumming) this is called ´I want a, I want a rendezvous´´....´´

11.12.80 Providence, RI, intro to ´´Crush on You´´

(the crowd: ´Yeah!´) was she fine? (the crowd: ´Yeah!´) was she mine? (the crowd: ´Yeah!´) no!...I ran up to the car, I banged on the window, I chased her down to Route 34, she rolled up the windows, she locked all the doors....I said ´Little girl, it´s sad but true, this is the Boss talking to you and I got a crush on (the crowd: ´You´)....´´

11.12.80 Providence, RI, intro to ´´Backstreets´´
